Once a month, discover the portrait of a JPAC team member and learn about the different roles that make up the company!

This week, meet Clara Cambray, Quality Assurance Engineer at JPAC.

What is your role at JPAC?

I’m a Quality Assurance Engineer at JPAC.

What does a Quality Assurance Engineer do?

A Quality Assurance Engineer has several responsibilities: she is in charge of implementing and maintaining the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with regulatory requirements and various standards. She is responsible for managing client audits as well as renewal audits for the BIO, MSC/ASC, and ISO 22000 certifications held by the company. She also conducts internal audits and supplier audits.

The QA Engineer also oversees operations related to JPAC’s workflow, including product listing for clients, creating technical data sheets, validating labels, managing customer complaints, and following up on client requests. She regularly collects data to monitor performance indicators and actively contributes to the company’s continuous improvement process.

What skills are essential for your role?

Attention to detail, curiosity, organization, responsiveness, commitment, creativity, and a healthy dose of adaptability!

Can you tell us about your career path?

I took the Geipi Polytech entrance exam during my first year of BCPST prep, which allowed me to join Polytech Sorbonne engineering school, where I specialized in food science. During my studies, I had the opportunity to do various internships in Quality and R&D. After graduating with my engineering degree, I joined JPAC in March 2023, initially to help the company achieve ISO 22000 certification. I then became a permanent member of the team as a Quality Assurance Engineer at the beginning of 2024.

Why did you choose to go into the food industry?

I’ve always been interested in culinary innovations in general, but it was really the courses I took during engineering school that introduced me to the food industry and convinced me to pursue a career in this field.

What’s a typical day like for you?

There’s no such thing as a “typical day” at JPAC! My day mainly revolves around workflow and client requests. Some tasks are recurring, such as updating the QMS, but most of them vary from day to day. Every day is different at JPAC, which is a real advantage.

What motivates you in your work? What drives you?

Two things: first, the team is one of JPAC’s greatest strengths. Each member brings their skills and positive energy to form a cohesive group that’s dedicated to growing the company in their respective areas.

Secondly, the variety of tasks is one of the most interesting parts of my job. Every day brings new challenges, and there’s no room for routine to settle in.

Do you have a work-related anecdote to share?

My superpower: I seem to disrupt all electronic devices around me—nothing works when I’m nearby!

Why did you choose to work at JPAC?

JPAC is a human-sized company with a dynamic and genuinely caring team from the very first meeting. The role offered not only looked interesting and enriching but also represented a real challenge for a first job.

What’s your favorite JPAC product?

The Cappuccino Tiramisu.

What’s your ideal meal?

Salmon tartare as a starter, roast beef with sautéed potatoes as the main course, and a café gourmand for dessert. And of course, a good bottle of wine to go with it!
